The conveyors don’t stop for a flicker. They stop for an hour cleaning up after one.

The conveyors don’t stop for a flicker. They stop for an hour cleaning up after one.

Automated sortation hubs run conveyors, robotics and scanners that cannot pause; a momentary power dip jams the line and costs a full shift to restart and clear.

Automation that hates the smallest gap

A modern distribution or parcel hub is a single synchronised machine: kilometres of conveyor, sorters, robotics and scanning, timed to the second against delivery cut-offs. That precision is also a weakness. A momentary voltage dip too brief for anyone to notice the lights flicker can drop controls and motors across the line at once, and the recovery is not instant. Jammed sorters must be cleared, parcels rescanned and the flow rebuilt, turning a half-second electrical event into a lost shift and missed cut-offs. On top of that, all that automation starting together sets steep demand peaks the operator pays for monthly.

Ride through the dip, flatten the peak

On-site storage does two jobs at once. It rides the hub through the short dips and outages that cause the damage, holding the line up cleanly so automation never sees the gap. And it shaves the demand peak when conveyors and chargers start together, trimming the capacity charge. The site keeps running through grid events that used to cost it a shift. A short bridge of stored power is all it takes; the events that do the damage last seconds, not hours.

Why 247 Energy

Ride-through is about speed, and supercapacitors respond instantly covering a dip the moment it starts, then recharging fast for the next one. 247 Energy’s systems are non-flammable with no thermal runaway, safe inside a busy, stock-filled building, and backed by in-house control software that decides in real time when to ride through and when to shave. European-built and containerised.
