From one container to a standing programme: the 247 Energy and CE+T Power partnership

In 2024, 247 Energy and CE+T Power solved one logistics site’s solar problem. Two years on, the pairing of safe supercapacitor storage and smart power conversion is installed across Europe.

Storage is only half a system

Most coverage of energy storage stops at the cells. But a storage container does nothing on its own. Energy has to move into it and back out again at the right voltage, at the right speed, and under intelligent control. That conversion layer, sitting between the grid, the solar array and the storage, decides whether a system is fast, efficient and safe, or merely a box of charged cells. 247 Energy builds a total solution. For the power conversion, we have worked since 2024 with CE+T Power, a Belgian power-electronics specialist.

One Dutch logistics site, one stubborn grid limit

The partnership began with a single, very ordinary problem. A logistics operator in the Netherlands had solar on the roof and a grid connection that would not take the surplus. The grid operator refused to accept exported solar, so clean power produced at midday was simply thrown away while the same site went on paying for expensive grid electricity in the evening. The brief was to capture the daytime surplus, hold it safely on site, and release it when the building actually needed it, without the fire risk, the active cooling or the floor-loading that a lithium installation would have added.

247 Energy supplied a containerised supercapacitor system: non-flammable, with zero thermal-runaway risk and no active cooling. CE+T Power supplied the conversion and monitoring; its Hercules converters and the Inview control layer to move energy cleanly between solar, storage and the building, and to report every flow back to a single dashboard. The surplus that used to be wasted now runs the site after dark. It worked, and that is where most case studies would end.

Why supercapacitors and CE+T converters fit each other

The pairing is not accidental. Supercapacitor storage charges and discharges far faster than lithium and cycles continuously without meaningful degradation. That speed is only worth having if the conversion stage can keep up with it. CE+T’s modular, multi-port architecture was built for exactly this: high-efficiency conversion running in several directions at once, scaling in small increments, with minimal cabling and a clean thermal design. Fast, durable storage met fast, flexible power electronics, and each made the other worth more.

We did not set out to build a showcase. We set out to make one site work and the technology fit so well that we kept installing it. James Troch, CEO, 247 Energy
From one site to a repeatable build

That installation was the start, not the headline. Through 2025 and into 2026, the same combination has gone into project after project across 247 Energy’s commercial and industrial portfolio logistics and industrial real estate, parking and EV-charging sites, and buildings where lithium simply cannot be placed indoors. What began as a case study has become a repeatable way of building: 247 supercapacitor storage paired with CE+T conversion, sized to each site’s load profile and grid limit.

European by design, not by accident

Both companies are Belgian, and that proximity is a feature rather than a footnote. Hardware ships short distances. Engineers talk to each other directly. Service stays local, and the supply chain stays inside Europe instead of depending on cells and electronics shipped from the other side of the world. For operators now facing NIS2 obligations and harder ESG scrutiny, a European-built and European-serviced system — with no rare metals and a documented, network-segmented control architecture — is no longer a nice-to-have. It is increasingly the requirement.

What each partner brings

247 Energy designs and integrates the solution: solid-state supercapacitor modules with a projected life beyond 15.000 cycles, round-trip efficiency of 97.7%, operation from −20°C to +50°C, and a noise level of 55 dB(A) low enough to sit inside an office, a hospital or a retail floor. Over the top runs the 247 ERP energy-management platform, dispatching and optimising every connected asset in real time. CE+T Power brings the conversion and control hardware that turns those modules into a working, grid-aware system. The combination is installed across the Benelux today and the programme is still growing.
